DALE EARNHARDT

Much more than the race car driver that dominated the Winston Cup circuit for more than 20 years.
It was Dale's Determination to be the best at EVERYTHING he did that made him the Hero he became to the thousands that followed his career.
Dale was a LOVING FATHER, FAITHFUL HUSBAND, PROUD GRANDFATHER, FIERCE BUSINESSMAN and LOYAL FRIEND to those who knew him and to those who never met him.
On this page we have tried to capture some of the quiet moments in his personal life.

Dale Had many passions, but it was racing that spured him on.
He was born the son of a racing pioneer and from the very beginning he knew that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Ralph Earnhardt.

Besides his career in racing, the one thing Dale cherished the most was his family. He was a father to 4 children that he loved and supported wholeheartedly. He didn't push racing on his kids, instead he encouraged them to follow their hearts and go and do whatever they chose for their lives.

The Kids, however, chose the world that their father had chosen, racing.
Some on the track, some behind the scenes but racing never the less.
Dale's Kids loved him for the father, friend and mentor that he was to each and every one of them as individuals.

After 2 previously failed marriages, Dale found his soul mate in 1977.
Teresa understood the demanding lifestyle of a rececar driver and respected Dales desire to be the best and make a name for himself in the world of Winston Cup.
Dale and Teresa exchanged wedding vows in 1982

Dale and Teresa were inseperable.
On and off the track they made a great team
Teresa had an uncanny business sense that equaled Dales and soon they were partners in more than their married life.

Dale enjoyed many different forms of "relaxation",
among them he enjoyed hours of fishing.
Wether he was by himself, or with a fishing buddy, on the dock, or in a boat Dale was always a sportsmen.

Not only did Dale enjoy fishing but, he made
several friends in the business of fishing.
He had a sponsorship from Bass Pro on his Winston Cup car,
and he even had a one time specialty paint scheme.

Hunting was another hobby that Dale spent many hours doing.
He could sit for hours in one spot and wait for a deer, a turkey or even an elk.
Dale was as at home in camoflage as he was in his drivers suit.

It didn't matter who you were, Dale had a way about him that was irresistable.
Any one at any time could be the brunt of one of his practicle jokes.
No one was ever immune to his charm or his devilish sense of humor.

Fans and true friends, Dale always took the time to be there, for everyone.
Dale was as loyal to his fans as we were to him.
If you were fortunate enough to know him, a truer friend you could never find.
But he wasn't partial on the track, and his friends knew this and accepted it as it was, business and nothing personal.
